Earn up to 13,500 bonus miles towards your next golf trip shopping online!

I am a big shopping portal shopper and enjoy receiving bonus miles for my basic everyday shopping. Even if it is as simple as picking up a gallon of vinegar from Wal-Mart and picking it up at the store.

Right now, American, Southwest, United and Alaska all have shopping bonuses through their online shopping portals. You can use the miles and go to one of my top 5 winter golf destinations!

American Airlines

Earn up to 4,000 miles when you spend $1,200 online. If you earned an average 2 miles per dollar normally, this would give you 6,400 miles total, over half the way to a one way domestic saver award flight in the U.S.

Bonus off ends November 18, 2018.

Southwest

Earn 3,000 bonus miles when you spend $1,000 through the Southwest shopping portal. If you averaged 2 miles per dollar while shopping, this would earn you a total of 5,000 miles. Southwest’s award flights are based on the actual ticket value, with each point being worth 1.6 cents. This would be $80 worth of points towards a flight, just for shopping online!

Bonus off ends November 18, 2018.

United

United is offering the largest of all the bonuses earning 5,000 miles for spending $1,500. Again, if you averaged 2 miles per dollars while shopping, this would give you a total of 8,000 miles. This is more than halfway of the standard one way saver award flight of 12,500, and almost at the reduced reward rate of 10,000 miles!

Bonus off ends November 18, 2018.

Alaska

Although Alaska Airlines is offering the lowest bonus amount at 1,500 miles, they also have the lowest spending amount for their top reward at 1,500 miles. So if you are still earning that 2 miles per dollars shopping online, this would give you 2,500 miles, or 1/4 of the way to their lowest one way award flight.

Bonus off ends November 18, 2018.

Conclusion

I always love seeing shopping portal bonuses because they are some of the easiest miles to earn. American and Southwest pose the greatest value in my opinion so I will be chasing those bonuses first. I don’t fly much to the pacific northwest or on Alaska, so United would make the most sense next, followed by Alaska.

If you have never shopped online through the portals before it is very easy. You just go to the portal first and sign in, find the retailer you would like to shop at, and click though to that website. Shop as normal earning miles with your purchase!

American, Alaska, United and Southwest all have buttons you can add to your browser so that you can skip going through the portal, and the button will remind you in case you forget, or if you didn’t even know that retailer earns you miles as they often will rotate.
