Top 5 Golf Destinations in the World

When trying to decide on the top 5 golf destinations in the world, we had to look at not only top golf courses, but courses that accompany them to be a true destination and not a resort or course. We also wanted to make sure that everyone could play them, unlike the terrific Melbourne Sandbelt courses that are largely private. We also stayed outside of the United States.

5. Shenzhen, China

The Hong Kong Golf Club and the Shenzhen Century Seaview Golf Club but the real reason to go is the Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen. With a total of 7 courses, and all from top architect, you won’t have to leave unless you want to.

4. Bermuda

With a total of 9 courses, Bermuda has more square miles of golf courses than anything else. With courses like Port Royal and Turtle Hill, there is plenty of good golf on the island.

3. Algarve Region, Portugal

I’m not sure how many people know how good the golf is in the Algarve region of along the southern coast of Portugal. With Monte Rei Golf and Country Club along with one of the top European golf resorts Quinta Do Lago, is a destination that needs to be added to your bucket list.

2. Southwest Ireland

While Ballybunion Golf Club may lead the way in Southwest Ireland, Old Head Golf Links and Cork Golf Club are both stunning courses.

1. Fife Region, Scotland

Could anywhere else be a better golf destination than the Fife region of Scotland. Of course there is the home of golf at St. Andrews Golf Links, but don’t forget about Kingsbarns Golf Links and the Crail Golfing Society.
