Top 5 PGA Tournaments to Watch (non-majors)

It would be very easy to make a list of the top 5 PGA tournaments to watch, but that would just include the 4 majors and one other tournament. So we digress a little to the top 5 PGA tournaments that are not majors.

Honorable Mention: Sanderson Farms, Desert Classic, Dell Match Play

5. Sentry Tournament of Champions

A culmination of the previous years champions, the Sentry Tournament of Champions will always host some of the tour top players. It is also fun to see them drive the ball up and down the hills of the Kapalua Plantation Course. The 18th hole always sets up for an exciting finish.

4. Tour Championship

For most of us, we rely on the sportscasters to tell us who needs to finish where in order to win the tour championship. Every year it comes to a handful of guys, and with Tiger Woods in the mix this past season, and winning the tournament but not the Fed-Ex Cup, it turned out to be one of the best to watch.

3. AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Each year we watch celebrity amateurs like Bill Murray, Darius Rucker, Larry the Cable Guy, and Tony Romo, we will continue to be entertained. It also sets up for a lot of coverage over 3 courses.

2. Waste Management Open

With the famed 16th hole, it is fun to watch golfers under the pressure try to hit the green, and the cheers or boos that follow each shot. But outside of that, TPC Scottsdale is one that can be scored on, and has ended multiple times in a playoff or dramatic fashion.

1. The Players Championship

Nothing tops watching The Players Championship and the infamous island green. The 17th hole is just one of best 3 finishing holes in all of golf. Yea, Augusta has it’s 18th, but the last 3 holes hail in comparison to TPC Sawgrass Stadium Courses. Very rarely will you not find multiple players in contention, often times easily more than 5 within 2 shots. It all boils down to watching the last 3 holes were players can drop like flies!
