The Mission and Goal of Traveling Golf Sticks

As and avid golfer and one that likes to travel, it is often hard to find information on certain golf related travel questions. There are a lot of great places to find information on golf courses, which we will do as well, but not so much about airports and traveling with clubs. A few of my own experiences have spurred this blog. Such as when I traveled to California via LAX (I know, not the most golfer friendly airport) and waited for my clubs to come with the regular luggage like many places only to find out they were sitting unattended at oversize luggage area. And as well in Miami when I waited in line to check my clubs, only to find out I had to go a special section again for oversize luggage.

Quite frankly, there are more golf course, airports, resorts, hotels, and rental cars than we could ever cover here, both time wise and financially. Most sites or blogs will only focus on the golf course, or resort. We want to help people from the time they leave their house, to the time they return back. We want to have a database of rental cars so that you know how many bags of clubs will fit if any at all. Which hotels to stay at if you’re on a budget or on a trip of a lifetime.

Being an avid traveler, I have different reward credit cards as well. I think the typical golfer overlooks things such as these and will benefit from learning about them. Some cards can get you on private course you wouldn’t normally play and I’m not sure many people know about this. They also can help you make a golf trip much more cost effective. I personally went on three trips last year and did not spend one dollar on airfare.

We are excited and we hope you are as well. As we grow with more posts we hope that you will with us and give us feedback as to what you would like to know. As always, feel free to drop us a line at ContactUs@TravelingGolfSticks.com!
