Alaska Airlines Shopping Mystery Bonus 4/15-4/19

I have been busy the last couple days and missed the beginning of a mystery shopping portal bonus for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. My mystery bonus was 500 miles after $200 spend through their portal. This isn’t a bad deal, adding 2.5 cents per dollar spent if you spent exactly $200. It will more likely be closer to 2 cents per dollar when it is all said and done.

I like shopping bonuses as it’s an easy way to get miles and points. However, it shouldn’t be something you go out of your way to get if you don’t need to spend $200.

Even if Alaska isn’t your main airline, I still like getting the portal bonuses because over time you will earn enough for an award flight. I generally fly American and Southwest but was able to book a united flight this year using miles I obtained mainly through shopping portal spend when they had bonuses.

To find other ways to earn bonus miles, you can read my article about ways to earn American Airlines miles. Even if American is not your main airline, you can duplicate many of the programs I write about for your airline. It’s also an easy way to earn points for other airlines, especially if you’re close to an award redemption.
